Community Services (CS)
Community Services is a public agency that provides a variety of mental health for the citizens of Prince William County and cities of Manassas and Manassas Park that include intellectual disability, substance abuse, early intervention, and emergency services
Mental Health Services provides counseling and case management for individuals, couples, adolescents and families. Therapists at Community Services offer help and expertise in areas such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, marital and family issues, grief, and parenting. Case management, vocational and other services are provided to enhance recovery for long-term mental illness.
Family Support provides services to adults who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing serious mental illness. Often Family Support clients have histories of in-patient psychiatric treatment and typically they utilize psychotropic medications to control psychiatric symptoms.
Youth and Family Crisis Services provides services to adults and children who do not require any of the other specialized services offered at Community Services. Clients in this program may require outpatient treatment to meet a wide variety of treatment needs (e.g. marital/family conflict, child behavioral problems) which, depending on problem severity, may require varying degrees of treatment intensity and duration. Most of the work is done in a family treatment model.
Intellectual Disabilities (MR) Case Management services help to assess and link clients and families to needed vocational, recreational and residential programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities (mental retardation). Support and guidance are provided to individuals and their families.
Substance Abuse (SA) program staff evaluates and assist individuals and families dealing with drug and alcohol issues. Services include an array of treatment options: individual, group, family, school-based, jail-based, adolescent and prevention education. Staff members also provide referrals to inpatient treatment.
